The Silver Impregnated Carbon Block Water Filter Cartridge with 1 Micron pore size is highly effective at reducing chlorine, taste and odours. Also, this filter media contains silver ions which attack microbes and inhibit their growth within the filter media of the water system. Therefore, this Bacteriostatic filter does not kill bacteria, but instead, inhibits the growth of bacteria within the filter*. In other words, this Bacteriostatic Filter will make that bacteria passing through the filter will remain static, i.e. bacteria will not multiply.

Rethinking chlorinated tap water
- Chlorinated water destroys much of the intestinal flora, the friendly bacteria that help in the digestion of food and which protect the body from harmful pathogens. These bacteria are also responsible for the manufacture of several important vitamins like vitamin B12 and vitamin K.
